What Next for CNN?

One week ago, The Atlantic published a fifteen-thousand-word profile by Tim Alberta of Chris Licht, the CEO of CNN.
The portrait was devastating. It depicted Licht as needlessly combative with some parties, excessively conciliatory towards others, uncommunicative with subordinates, indiscreet with journalists, isolated from his team, micromanaged by his boss, and out of his depth in one of the most prominent roles in media.
A week later he is gone.
There are some important lessons for executives taking over a new team, and some big questions about where CNN – and the rest of the media – go from here.
